BOOKLAUNCH: "LATEINAMERIKA 1800-1930" AND "LATEINAMERIKA SEIT 1930"

The Centre for Atlantic and Global Studies is pleased to present two new handbooks for the study of Latin American history at a book launch:

"Lateinamerika 1800-1930“ and "Lateinamerika seit 1930“ by Christine Hatzky and Barbara Potthast.

The publications offer a detailed insight into the history of the Latin American continent from the emergence of the states after independence through the rupture of the Great Depression and into the 21st century. They analyze the central social, economic, and political processes and address relevant historiographical and social debates as well as developments in cultural history.

On June 29, 2022, the authors Prof. Dr. Christine Hatzky (Professor of the History of Latin America and the Caribbean and spokeswoman of the Centre for Atlantic and Global Studies at Leibniz Universität Hannover) and Prof. Dr. Barbara Potthast (Professor of Iberian and Latin American History, University of Cologne) will present an overview of the publications and discuss the two works in the context of history education.
