Racism-critical art action - What does racism mean to you?

This racism-critical art event is about dealing with the topic of racism on an intersectional level as an affected and non-affected person.

Whether painting, drawing, photography, abstract art, sculptures or poetry, all forms of artistic expression are permitted. The aim is to deal with the topic of racism and to artistically process the associated experiences, feelings, perceptions, personal references and one's own attitude to this topic.

The campaign aims to open up different perspectives on racism, to make different perspectives visible in order to set an example against racism, to raise awareness and to have an empowering effect.

The meeting will take place on 30.04.2024 at 15:30 in the Kreativ:Labor, Bahnhofstr. 11, 26122 Oldenburg. For those who are unable to attend in person, it is also possible to join online. The link will be sent by e-mail a few days in advance.

The aim of the meeting is to introduce the campaign and explore how participants can and want to get involved. The meeting also serves to get to know other participants/contributors and possibly to network. In addition, questions, ideas and concerns about the campaign can be expressed. For example, anyone who does not yet know how the campaign can be implemented for their own person, institution or organisation has the opportunity to receive the appropriate support.

Registration is possible until 26.04.2024.

An event/exhibition with the various works of art is to take place as part of this campaign. This is planned for October/November. At the event, there will be the opportunity
to exchange ideas, reflect and explore together how we can continue to stand up together against racism and discrimination in the future.

Further information can be found on the flyer.
