CEAGS is a member of the most important Latin American science network CLACSO

Since December 2022, the Centre for Atlantic and Global Studies (CEAGS) has been an associate member of the Latin American Social Science Council (CLACSO). CLACSO is the most important international science network based in Latin America and an important forum for academic exchange, comprising 836 research centres in the social sciences and humanities in 55 countries in Latin America and other regions of the world. The network supports the internationalisation of science in Latin America and the Caribbean and promotes South-South and South-North cooperation as well as general academic exchange.

CLACSO's main objectives include democratising access to knowledge and academic knowledge production in Latin America and the Caribbean to make it available to the general public, policy makers, social movements, civil society organisations, media and academia. CLACSO promotes research on social inequality to combat poverty and works to strengthen human rights and democratic participation. Through academic research and critical thinking, CLACSO supports sustainable social development in economic, social and environmental terms.

The CLACSO network comprises more than 90 interdisciplinary working groups involving over 4,500 researchers from Latin America and around the world.

CLASCO actively contributes to academic knowledge production through research and postgraduate fellowships and an extensive digital library.
